It is so profoundly important for us to articulate core elements of our cosmologies and ontologies, and I love and resonate deeply with the ways you do so here
Thank you Seán. I agree, I do think it is important to at least attempt to articulate the cosmologies that help us find some sense of meaning. Here adrift in a cultural over-story claiming there is no meaning in a random, mechanical, soul-less universe, I find the need to anchor some meaning in life an act of resistance, a necessity to prevent being swallowed up, and a glimmer of starlight that might guide us to a rich tapestry of knowing ourselves and the world.
Absolutely, Kat. And my sense and experience is that when we don't consciously engage in re-weaving meaning, we end up replicating the logic of the dominant culture in unconscious ways. And at the same time only if we live and embody the cosmologies we are weaving do they move out of the realm of extraction. It gladdens my heart to see both kinds of anchoring in your work.
Yes breathing life into the worlds we weave and honoring the waters who feed those AI servers you mentioned. I have to trust that these foundations will help us all see how to slow and balance the destruction machine
ah! have you read the late great danny deardorff's work? (his book 'the other within: the genius of deformity in myth, culture, and psyche')? he's the first person i learned about david bohm from-- danny took that concept implicate/explicate order and applied it to implicate/explicate identity. i work on his legacy project mythsingerlegacy.org :) so great that you are writing and thinking in these terms. <3 !!
ahh i'm so happy to hear this!! this 2008 video isn't on the website but i always recommend it-- it was my intro to danny that cracked my heart right open, he speaks about the implicate order in it too :) it's a longer vid with his tellings alongside martin shaw but interview is @ 1:36:38 <3
Thank you for this. I enjoyed the interview with Danny. I especially appreciated his reminder that our wild, wandering souls are still alive within our modern selves and that stories call to that wild one within, letting us weave the two worlds together. I look forward to hearing more of his work. Thank you Audrey.

Thank you Audrey! His book has been on my list for a while - I'll get there. In the meantime I'll dig into some of the video on the website.
